Paris Saint Germain (PSG) star KylianMbappe was one of the attackers who made the nominees list for this year’s FIFPRO XI. There were 23 players on the list of nominees released by the professional footballers’ body and the final XI would be announced in January 2022.
The breakdown of the 23-man list has three goalkeepers, six defenders, six midfielders and eight attackers.
The three goalkeepers are Chelsea star Edouard Mendy, Liverpool shot stopper Alisson Becker and PSG summer signing GianlugiDonnaruma who signed for the French giants on a free transfer this summer after his contract with Italian Serie A giants AC Milan ended at the end of last season. Also, Donnaruma saw off Mendy and others to win the best goalkeeper award at the Ballon d’Or award ceremony this year.
For the defence, the Barcelona duo of left-back Jordi Alba and right-back Dani Alves made the list. The other defensive nominees include Manchester City star Ruben Dias, Juventus player Leonardo Bonucci, Real Madrid utility defender David Alaba who can play as a left-back or as a centre back. The sixth and final nominee in defence is Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold who has seven assists in the Premier League this season.
There are six defenders and six midfielders on the list. The midfielders are Sergio Busquets (Barcelona), Frenkie De Jong (Barcelona), Jorginho (Chelsea), N’GoloKante (Chelsea) and Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United) who has five goals in the Premier League this season. Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne is the sixth and final midfielder on the list.
